Component placement is rules-based in Pantheon. Components can be associated with placement class rules that define the minimum allowed component-to-component placement clearance. Specialized component class to class rules can also be defined and enforced. During placement, Pantheon automatically checks clearances, ensuring zero design defects during layout.
Options for displaying components make the layout process straightforward: highlight net connections associated with selected components; highlight components by reference, class, or group; or specify the component elements to display during placement, such as clearances or outlines.
